What We Do
Following an explosive trip to an artisanal cobalt in the DRC, The Freedom and Justice Partnership has been founded to bring dignity, healthcare and education to the children who work in the cobalt mines.
Our founders, trustees, volunteers and donors all believe that the digital and green economies of the wealthy west should not be propped up by the cruel and harsh reality of child labour in the DRC.
Our Mission
Our newly formed charity is aiming to deliver 3 key objectives:
To partner with trusted on the ground providers to deliver health and education outcomes for the thousands of child miners in the DRC, and around the world.
To advocate on behalf of those trapped in child labour, pressing for improved supply chain integrity.
To work with technologists, philanthropists, corporations and governments to expedite the adoption of technologies, systems and practices that will ensure the deeply unjust use of child labour is eradicated.
“We seem to accept moral failure as long as it is hidden far enough down the supply chain to be invisible to the average consumer.”
— Mark Preston, FJP Co-Founder
